And so it begins!  After months of perusing a variety of blogs by both friends and strangers I'm diving in myself.  I thought of choosing a specific topic, but found it difficult to identify a single theme capturing my interests and experiences  Thus, the discoveries and stories that follow freely represent the rich diversity of life's experiences.

While the purpose of writing is to further explore my own experiences and thoughts, if the contents of this blog serve to inspire you to dabble as well, that is wonderful!  The use of 'dabbling' in the title is meant to express the joy to be found in experiencing new things along with the freedom imparted by avoiding the need to master or perform.  Leisure has become a bit of a lost art in my life; I have hopes that dabbling will help to restore the sense of wonder that busyness too often crushes!

As a final side note, I've been collecting pictures and memories from the past months with plans to post blog updates. Due to camera software problems, power outages, and travel schedules, I've got quite the collection of posts to share.  As a result, it may look like I've had a number of very busy days.  Rest assured all of the work and play reflected in the initial posts have been spread out over the past weeks and months.
